The Comedy Unit and IWC Media were up for three awards each at Sunday's Scottish BAFTAs. Both had shows nominated for the prestigious Lloyds TSB Award for Most Popular Programme: Location Location Location (IWC Media) just lost out to The Comedy Unit's Still Game. Other shows nominated in this category included River City, Rebus, Taggart, and another Comedy Unit production, Chewin' the Fat. This was the inaugural year for the viewer-voted Most Popular Programme award.
Still Game's Paul Riley took home the Best Performance award for his role as Winston in the show. Will Andrews was also nominated for Best First Time Director for The Comedy Unit E4 production Tank Commander starring up and coming young stand up Greg McHugh.
IWC Media won the Best Documentary Award for Root of All Evil, presented by Richard Dawkins, beating Happy Birthday Broons and Sheriff Court; with a third nomination for the Best Entertainment Category with Mechannibals.
Best Entertainment prize went to Dear Green Place which was co-written by Rab Christie, The Comedy Unit's senior comedy producer.
