RDF Wins Best Independent Production Company Award
26th January, 2006

RDF Media was named Best Independent Production Company at last night's annual Broadcast Awards, making it the third time in the last five years that it has been awarded this accolade. In 2003 Ideal World (now merged into IWC Media and part of the RDF Media Group) was the winner. No other independent has ever won the award more than once.

RDF Media has had an exceptional year. The company floated on the AIM market in May at a value of £50m with an expected turnover of £60m for 2005. It has seen more than 50 new commissions, including more than a dozen re-commissions, air on UK or US television in the last twelve months. Since its flotation RDF has acquired drama indie Touchpaper, Banzai producer Radar and IWC Media - Scotland's biggest indie - and has also set up an office in Manchester. It was voted most respected by its peers for the third year running in Broadcast's 2005 indie survey.

Also up for nomination was RDF's Rock School in the Best Popular Factual Programme and Best New Programme categories.
