RDF announces Radar acquisition
15th December, 2005

RDF Media Group plc is pleased to announce that it has agreed to acquire the remaining 65 per cent of its associate company, Radar, for an undisclosed sum.

Radar is an independent producer of innovative entertainment programming founded in 2002 by Tim Breadin and Gary Monaghan. RDF acquired a 35 percent stake at its inception. Radar has produced programmes such as the award-winning Banzai, Hercules, Experimental and The 50 Greatest Documentaries for broadcasters including BBC, Sky, Five, Fox and Channel 4.

Radar is currently in production with new programmes: The 50 Greatest Comedy Films, a 1 x 180' production to be broadcast this New Year's Day on Channel 4 and Animal Farm, a documentary forming part of Channel 4's Extreme Season early next year. Radar has a slate of new projects in development for 2006 and a production staff of 15.

Radar's current Creative Director, Gary Monaghan, will be leaving the company following the deal. Tim Breadin, Radar's Director of Production, will remain at the company.

Last month RDF Media announced that Stuart Murphy, former controller BBC3, would be joining the company in January with particular responsibility for developing comedy and entertainment programming.

David Frank, Chief Executive of the RDF Media Group, said:

"Having taken a stake in Radar at its inception it was always our intention to move to 100 percent ownership in due course. I'd like to thank Gary Monaghan for his outstanding contribution to the company over the last three and a half years. With Radar a wholly-owned member of the group the creative team within RDF looks forward to building Radar's business in the future."
