RDF hires Corporate Development Director
8th September, 2005
RDF Media Group plc, which recently floated on AIM, has hired Jonny Slow as Director,
Corporate Development. Jonny joins from Sand Aire Private Equity, a London based
venture capital firm that specialises in investing in small and medium sized
UK companies, where he held the position of Investment Director.
Jonny will be based in RDF’s London office with a remit to identify and
oversee acquisitions and new investments, working alongside RDF’s Board
of Directors and reporting to the Group’s Chief Executive David Frank.
The potential investments that will be considered and pursued range from other
independent production companies through to programming rights acquisitions.
David Frank said: “Having floated earlier this summer, it became clear
pretty quickly that to exploit fully the firepower that a public listing affords
us, we needed a dedicated corporate finance executive to manage our investment
strategy. We’re an ambitious company and we’re looking to grow both
organically and by acquisition. Jonny Slow is the perfect choice for us. He’s
bright and energetic and has spent the last few years making investments in small
and medium sized businesses. In addition he understands our sector and is excited
by working in it.
Jonny Slow said: “This is a tremendously exciting time for RDF because
television production and distribution have finally emerged as activities that
can make a compelling investment proposition. RDF’s strong reputation within
the industry and access to capital as a public company will ensure that the group
continues to grow and develop in a fast evolving market.”
